How do I get to the Retreat in Sintra, Portugal?

​​​

Check-in is from 10am Friday and Check-out is by 1pm Sunday.

​

We advise flying to Lisbon Airport

To the retreat by taxi is around 50 minutes (we can advise on best companies to use)

There is no public transport to the door of the venue

When you arrive at the venue you will be welcomed and shown around the venue by a member of the Life Drawing Cascais team.

What happens if the retreat I booked is cancelled by Life Drawing Cascais?

 

If a given retreat has fewer than the minimum number of bookings before the course is due to start, the retreat will be cancelled and any persons who have booked to attend will be notified immediately. If a course is cancelled by Life Drawing Cascais, the full payment (including deposit) will be 100% refunded up to 1 month before the retreat start date. We only refund bookings with Life Drawing Cascais, we do not refund the cost of travel.

We advise you to book travel insurance.

If I am attending a retreat, can I bring a non-participating partner/friend?

 

Unfortunately this is not possible, however all activities are optional

Do I need to have painting experience to attend a workshop or retreat?

 

No. Our workshops and retreats are open to all levels from beginner to advanced, however please bare in mind this is a self directed retreat, other than the exploratory workshops the Sessions are self directed with full freedom for the artists

​

What should I bring with me?

​

We will provide some mediums, paper and easels so you do not need to travel with them. Please feel free to bring your usually preferred materials.

​

Studio Access?

​

You are welcome to use the studio at the retreat at any time of the day.

​

What will the meals be like during the retreat?

​

Meals will be mostly Portuguese cuisine prepared by the retreat venue, please advise us of any allergies or dietary requirements. Any special requests can be made in advance.

How many participants will be attending?

​

We have a maximum of 15 people for this retreat.​

​

How can I take my drawings home at the end of the course?

​

Leave enough space in your suitcases so that you can pack up your work and take it home with you, we are happy to help you pack your work in a way that should prevent any damage.

​

As part of the drawing circle some drawings may be asked to be shared with other participants.

​

You can request our photographer to capture your work.

​
